1-Stats, name, location?

James "Jamie" Krieger 6'1", 185. Dual citizenship of White Plains, NY and NYC

2-How old were you when you started skating, and what got you into it?

I started skating around 8 or 9 years old when my great grandmother gave me a yellow California Freeformer for Christmas... with grip built into the mold!

3-What's your first legit memory of skateboarding?

Bombing the hills in the parking lot behind St. Bernard's Church in White Plains a few blocks from my house.

4-Obviously you've been in the mix for a long time what kept you on the board?

I actually didn't have any friends who were into skateboarding when I was a kid, no skateparks near me, and was never exposed to the mags so I got into rock music and gave it up until about four years ago. After watching Stacy Peralta's "Riding Giants" documentary I watched his "Dogtown And Z-Boys" documentary and immediately after ordered a deck from Alva. I had to skate.

5- Who are your biggest influences in skateboarding? Why?

I have my skaters I love to watch (basically just the OG 70's and early 80's style skaters) but my biggest influences are Joe and Chris Reilly. I skate with the two of them the most and they are not just great skaters but first and foremost great people. Mike Mullieri as well. When I am skating with all my bro's there is not a lot better than that.

6- Top 10 skateboarders of all time?

My faves are the older guys who have style for DAYS! Jay Adams, Steve Olson, Shogo Kubo, Dave Hackett, Christian Hosoi, Tony Alva, Aaron Murray, Scott Oster, Duane Peters, Jeff Grosso.

7-What do you do when you're not skateboarding?

Grind milfs.

8-What music gets you pumped for a session?

The Melvins, Ramones, AC/DC (Bon Scott), Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen (Roth), Blue Oyster Cult, The Jesus Lizard.

9-Current set-up? Any rituals/superstitions that have to do with skating?

I am known for the Dagger Reategui deck I ride, but am now rocking a Vigilante pool Stinger. Indy trucks, Bones Hardcore bushings, Bones Super Swiss Bearing and Abec 11 wheels on my Vigilante. Tracker trucks, Khiro bushings, Bones Super Swiss bearings and Abec 11 wheels on the Dagger. Rituals? I tend to have a bandana hanging from my hip... from the Mobil station in White Plains, NY.

10-Skateboarding has obviously taken you some places where is the best place you've skated out side of the home base?

My home base was the old Chelsea Piers Skatepark in NYC... Now it's Stamford. I am a nostalgic guy so I would say the skatepark in Montauk. It was the first skatepark I ever skated, met Joe there, and the ocean is right nearby... Hitting Woodward in Pennsylvania with Joe and Chris was pretty rad, though.

11-If you could go skate anywhere right now where would you go?

I would say the new park in Venice, California or maybe Black Pearl in the Cayman Islands.

12-What's in the future for James Krieger?

More bert slides, then some layback bert slides, getting my frontside together, hanging with my bro's for a good summer of sessions... and getting some pizza from Artichoke on 14th St.

13-Words to live by?

Adversity doesn't build character, it reveals it. What is this going to reveal about you?

14-Any closing comments anybody you'd like to thank?

Thank my boys, Chris, Joe and Mike first and foremost. I couldn't surf concrete with a better group of guys... Rob Bohne and Travis from the old Chelsea Piers... And all the ladies who like the bandana...
